I redraw the character of my comic strip Bar and I have done manga style, over worked, I'm thinking of redrawing the 3 or 4 characters I have and make the strip more attractive, lol, I'll see if I have time. I've done with inkscape completely, and as you can see I've put a volume effect with gradients.
